The Night Before

Hi everyone! We are just about packed and anxious for our 3 a.m. alarm to sound for Evan’s flight to Washington, D.C. with Bellevue Christian School. He will be boarding a plane with 70 other teenagers and heading east for the first time without me or Dan with him. Ev will spend five days exploring in D.C., Jamestown, Williamsburg and Arlington with a fabulous group called WorldStrides. We are very excited for him and he is thrilled to have the independence. Deep breaths! Once safely dropped at SeaTac, Dan, Chewy and I will hop in the car and start our trek east on our first cross country road trip.

Evan Night Before

Speaking of firsts, this is the first time that me or Dan will be writing a blog. We brainstormed dozens of names for our blog and decided on “Chasing Waves.” Every Summer we fly east to visit family and friends to decompress by the Atlantic. There is just something about the ocean, the sound of the waves and the sand between your toes that strips your worries away. The East Coast will always be our “home away from home.” We hope that you enjoy our posts and we welcome comments.

Let our adventures begin!

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sail. Explore. Dream. Discover.  – Mark Twain
